Created Issue: ApplyWebConfigModifications won't apply changes to the Administration WebApplication

This might be intentional but if not:
Change the call to
app.WebService.ApplyWebConfigModifications();
//app.Farm.Services.GetValue<SPWebService>().ApplyWebConfigModifications();

CREATED ISSUE: XML web part throws exception when added directly to master page

When XML web part is added to master page/page layout outside the web part zone the web part's OnPreRender method throws NullReferenceException when it tries to reference it's WebPartManager. Possible Workaround that hides the base class' WebPartManager property:

{
get
{
WebPartManager manager;
if (base.WebPartManager != null)
{
manager = base.WebPartManager;
}
else
{
manager = WebPartManager.GetCurrentWebPartManager(this.Page);
}

return manager;
}
}

COMMENTED ISSUE: Removing solution leaves httpHandler

After retracting solution, the httpHandler remains in web.config
<add verb="*" path="opml.ashx" type="LitwareAjaxWebParts.FeedListHandler, LitwareAjaxWebParts" />
Comments: This is only an issue with the example code, not the production code.
